The selection of vegetables and seafood to be availed constantly.

This is seriously not rocket science and we do not need a food chain to implement. If Airchefs is so incapable for producing good halaal food inhouse I have to wonder at the product we serve on board to our customers who require special meals. They have no concept of cultural sensitivity nor the correct  application of use of gloves and utensils in the canteen. If they need help they can call me to help them understand.

Cargo Canteen need to improve on the food Variety, we have the same food everyday (rice, Chicken, red meat, Papa) once in while there is a salad.

AirChef Food is of poor quality the Spur at the airport is a better option

Opening times. With no shop at Airways Park we often finish at 4pm and there is no shop except the biltong bar. A decent coffee shop with proper seating would be world class.

I believe a canteen is serving that are quality on a low price on the environment that is neat and clean. Staff need to be clean and wash hands at all times. the place need to be fumigated on a regular basis.

If you can improve the above then we will start buying and supporting our canteen.

The reason I occasionally buy from the canteen is that...takes a very long time to get your order especially sandwiches. at the hot food station you are made to feel like they doing you a favour. They are sometimes even rude. They've never been rude to me but I've seen their interaction with other people. The ladies at the till are much friendlier. They greet and smile at us. NB...please ask the chef to reduce on cooking

Add more options for breakfast and lunch

The Canteen needs to operate throughout the working day. And not just for office workers. Crew sign on from 430am and work until 11pm.

It is important that the canteen be very clean and hygienic. The canteen staff should please try and change the gloves they use when they prepare food. clean hands are far better than dirt contaminated gloves, please we are pleading.

Provide a value for money service at all times, as this is also a break time for employees and eating healthy helps in energy boosting for employees to be more productive, and not tired of the wrong food choices that they are forced to make as they do not have any other options.

The lunch meals do not offer any healthy options.

Please don't make stuff too expensive.

Canteen to stay open to at least 16h00

The quality of the food and the service. Average time spend waiting for food is 20 minutes.

The food finishes very quick especially samp on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The food is very oily at time which is a health harzard. The taste of chicken has improved . 

Food portions are inconsistent, prices are high, no variation of menus. 

ENSURE THAT THE PERSON AT THE TILL CAN COUNT AS THEY GIVE INCORRECT CHANGE AND THEN WANTS TO ARGUE WITH YOU AND GIVE YOU ATTITUDE.
HAPPENED MORE THAN ONCE THAT IS WHY I DO NOT PURCHASE FOOD AT EITHER CANTEEN

if you can have staff willing to deliver good service with eager and enthusiasm , have some contacts or some online way to order food and delivered to our own sections to avoid long queue  and save time , as our lunch is only 30 min .Thanks

Service, staff and quality of food all need improvement.
Often stocks, milk, yogurt and others are not available
Poor selections of foods. Especially for no-carb orders.
Often there is no mince for toasted sandwiches.
Pizzas are no longer requested as they are never available.
Also ridiculous that one has to pay extra for sauces/condments.
Such a small cup of coffee for R25 is just as ridiculous when you get the large size at mugg and bean for the same price.
Canned cooldrinks are also never available and only in small quantities so we are forced to buy buddies at a higher cost.
This is supposed to be a benefit/perk for employees, yet the prices are higher than take out areas. This is why staff choose to walk to the Airport, Emperors and East Rand mall for better quality and prices which results in them taking longer lunch times on these trips and causing them to be out of office longer.

Have at least a vegetarian or Halaal grilled with separate utensils to

The canteen must be a place where you can go to and "unwind" and be proud to take visitors to. Our colleagues / staff must walk to the airport for descent and affordable food. In actual fact I indicated "occasional" usage...but I never (years) go their anymore! So I may be guilty for not knowing what is their today...but base don previous experience ....I stay away.  

The canteen is only aimed at staff who work office hours, whereas it is required to be available to shift workers. Monday to Friday 8-4pm is unacceptable. Thank you for addressing this issue

Strictly Vegetarian kitchen & the low level staff must understand the rules around Halaal/Kosher/Vegetarian. Management understands but Managers are not doing the cooking. Staff "contaminate" utensils with pork & non-halaal meats thereby nullifying the efforts that Management put-in towards compliance to the special needs.

Would be nice to have different cakes ie cheese cakes and bar one cake but please don't over price them as at the airport one slice of which is not a big slice is more than R45 of which it does not even cost you that to make it.

Food be made available after hours and during weekends

More variety of food choices, especially after hours.  The food sold at snack shop after hours is disheartening, it is packaged as if its free food distributed at funeral or soup kitched for charity, with a price tag almost equal as quoter chicken meal at Nandos.  It does not make sense.  It is obvious that the company knows it does not have to try and improve due to no risk of competition taking over as it is part of the group therefore no effort taken.  Pity our mother company allows employees to taken of advantage like this.  Shows how much employees are valued here, we don't give employees enough increases, for management no increase and while at it, ensure the canteen gives the worst service, poor quality food and expensive prices they cant afford, employees must just stay during office hours and starve.

Yes I think there are a lot of companies that SAA can choose from not just Franchises I believe if SAA had an open Tender and allow companies to showcase what they can deliver and they price range would be a great idea and tender be subject to standards that must be met at all times. Lets give the masses a fighting chance and choose the best out of them all including your franchises. Thanks you

The food is usually presented badly. it looks awful. especially breakfast. Most hotels have a lacart menus for breakfast that can look appetising

Better service less talking behind the counter

Get qualified people to cook,they have no idea.The manner in which the toasted sandwiches are made is wrong,take them to a roadhouse or any fastfood chain for training.A stew is a stew when there is veg in it not just a meat.Have a skeleton crew on till 6 or 7 at night for people having to work unscheduled overtime and needing to buy food.

Yes. please employ people who understand that they are in a public service field and that they chose to work there. so serving people is their passion and that an attitude of, "I am doing you a favour" is not the right attitude. It is one of the things that has made me personally, not support any of the canteens in technical or airways park. the other reason is that the menu only caters for one culture and not all.

Curently the food is TOTALY BELOW STANDARD . Please train your staff to the correct ethnics of working with food and to keep the facility to healty conditions. Keep the cleaning company workers at what they suppose to do, not visiting behind the tills and stoves .

The cashiers never have enough change. The very long queues at lunch time at the two tills are unacceptable. The pizza offering alot of the time does not have all the necessary ingredients e.g. no mushrooms, not enough mince so you are unable to order what is advertised and offered, which is unacceptable. I have seen bugs running around on the floor in the canteen.

It will be nice it they can introduce a barcode scanning system to reduce the queues when making payments. A prepaid system where one can load money on their access card then use it to buy food. I saw this at Microsoft Canteen and I was blown away.

The food choices is same old same old every day. This is from Breakfast to lunch. Some staff are not friendly at all or enjoy their jobs. It will go a long way to see happier and friendlier staff.

The technical canteen serves the same oily, unhealthy food everyday and they do not have vegetable choices ,its mostly starch, chicken and beef. In the beginning they use to have dishes like lasagne, fish with vegs and salads. But somehow their food quality dropped drastically.

visit a few corporate canteens and see how excellent they are and create the want to be there and purchase. At present no need to go there , preffer to walk to the airport and buy when wanted to.  Clean, inviting , quality and the feel and look like a cornor shop selling anything and everything. taking away the sweet shop and combining was a no no. 

Improve the looks and service of the canteen inside.

The overall hygiene of the cafeteria and "food court" area need to be addressed.

Make sure you have the ingredients for your dishes as it is often the case that the spice for the spicy chips is not available for instance.

Just improve the food please. we can be eating the same things everyday

Please provide more variety that caters to more tastes. More "snack" items. More fresh and healthy food, more varied fresh fruit, perhaps a salad bar. At present all one can get is a hot meal or fast food (burgers, toasted sandwiches, etc.) we need more and better variety.

In SAAT, there is not a lot of variety of food selections. Always the same food. Not happy with the service. Can SAAT not get a different food supplier. Staff is unfriendly, service is poor, kitchen area looks unsanitary.

1. There should be some kind of a staff  discount at the canteen, just like other companies give.
2. There should be a sitting area where all staff can sit that is not out on the open

Have stock to prepare the items you offer on the menu. To many time you get there and you can not even get a simple cheese burger. Offer a hamburger and Toasted Sandwich menu at night till 24h00. After all SAAT is a 24hr operation.

Sell the meat stew for the Pap and meat in a separate standard size container, so that there can be no complaints of "bias" 

Snack shop item i.e. chocolates should not be more expensive in AWP than outside

Please give us different food and healthy ones, we need green salads and mix fruits salads everyday. Different breakfast like cereals e.g oats,All-bran, corn flakes etc.

Also, eating at your desk is unhealthy. Our kitchen are small. We need an area to have our lunch meals. A couple of steps to walk there is good for the mind and body.

we work in an invironment that can be fast paced and stressful at times, not having enough time for having lunch causes distress to the body. healthier options, quick meals and light food will work well. all these are non existent at the moment and as a result i never buy anythin at the canteen now and prefer to pack my own lunch. should i not have anything packed, i order elsewhere .
The quality of food in our canteeen is far from being healthy and delicious.
The customer service needs to really improve by 90% and the waiting time needs to be cut down.
A service of ordering and delivering to offices can be a good option as some staff members are stuck in boardrooms all day.

Bring in those African meals by African business people from township allow them to tender and compete with your regular outlets.

Snack trolleys that move from office to office/floor to floor with dry snacks (crisps, pretzels, popcorn, chocs, etc.), cold drinks, fresh sandwiches, at an affordable price should make much money.

When there are times that you buy food, it been the leftovers from the day before and has just been changed a bit but you can taste that its old, and does not taste nice. It will be nice to have fruit salads and Salads made to order. Or some stir fry.  Healthier foods. Maybe some bran muffins,
In winter it could be nice to have a nice soup.
I really think that they need to change the way the canteen is currently, as it a not as good as it can be.

Tranning on customer service some of the staff are very rude and the service itself is very poor.

The general area needs an upgrade. The atrium needs to have some bar counters with chairs and just a general upgrade with new fixed tables and chairs

As flight crew, we place a great importance on healthy foods for sustained energy. High sugar, high carb meals are not suitable. A good coffee bar is also important. Woolworths or Lavazza coffee is good. Ciro really isn’t good.
A Canteen/restaurant offering healthy, wholesome choices will add such great value to our work place. Also, provision needs to be made for after hours training. A vending machine will assist with this.

You can improve by exploring different ways of cooking, there are different ways of cooking Veggies or meat, you don't always have to boil baby marrow (as an example).

Offer a variety of food groups, you are always serving the same kind of food and that is why I hardly buy anymore. You have also dropped the standard a lot in trying to contain costs maybe, you cut down on ingredients, but hike prices (Chicken wrap is one example).
